Work History

Courtney Arrington is the principal of Arrington Solutions, LLC. With five years of experience in accounting, Courtney provides tax preparation and bookkeeping services to partnerships, corporations, and individuals. Her areas of focus include tax preparation and planning as well as bookkeeping for small businesses, influencers, and sole proprietors.

Courtney’s work experience includes her role as a senior accountant in the insurance industry where she performs the accounting over a $75B investment portfolio. In this role Courtney performs the execution of controls, implementation of new accounting standards, and assists with the preparation of financial statements under both generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), statutory, and SEC reporting standards.
Courtney began her accounting career as a tax associate for a regional public accounting firm. During her time with this firm, Courtney worked with a variety of clients including partnerships, corporations, non-profits, trusts, and high net worth individuals. Courtney provided services in the areas of tax preparation, tax planning, and she was involved in engagements for compilation and review services.

Education

Courtney obtained her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University where she graduated Cum Laude in 2016. During her course studies, Courtney was a member of the National Association of Black Accountants and Beta Alpha Psi. Courtney also served as the campus ambassador for Becker Professional Education. Courtney became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant with the state of Virginia in 2019 and is also a Quickbooks Online Certified ProAdvisor.

Community Service

In addition to her work in the office, Courtney is a devote member of the accounting community as demonstrated through her volunteerism with several organizations. Courtney serves as the lead trustee for a local non-profit organization where she is responsible for management and oversight of the budget and aids in the financial decision making of the organization. Courtney currently serves on both the Young Professionals Advisory Council and the scholarship committee with her state society of CPAs. Courtney serves on the seminars committee planning board for the National Association of Black Accountants. Courtney is the creator of an accounting blog, The Accounting Struggle ™, where she seeks to help new and struggling accountants get acclimated in the accounting industry.
